Welcome to Stray Theatre Company!

Kia ora koutou, welcome all to Stray Theatre Company! We are the University of Auckland’s theatre club and a home for anyone who has an interest in theatre. Whether you have experience or not in acting, directing, writing, backstage roles, technical roles, putting on a show or even watching theatre, this is the place for you to give it a go! 

One of our main goals is to provide an inclusive and accessible space for people to try new things in theatre. If you can’t join a university club and have the opportunity to learn new skills, then what’s the point? We aim to foster an environment of learning by hosting workshops and assisting newcomers in every way we can. 

Another of our main goals is to provide the space for a welcoming community to grow. We aim to give our members the chance to meet like-minded individuals and make life-long friends, even if they are not in one of our shows together. 

I am greatly looking forward to 2024, and our Executive Team are hard at work planning our four shows, upskilling workshops, and social activities for the year ahead. 

I can’t wait to welcome new and returning members to our Stray whānau this year.
