What is a Bill?

Stray produces four main bills throughout the year. Each bill has an open submission to any members who wish to write and/or direct a production. These get selected throughout the year.

As of 2024, our four Bills are now classed into a set of two Double Bills! Our Semester 1 Double Bill focuses on plays by existing playwrights while our Semester 2 Double Bill centres around the works of our community!

Stir Fried

Stir Fried is Stray's annual short play festival. 2025 marks the 17th anniversary of this crowd favourite tradition.

Original short plays are submitted by Stray members and are linked together by a well-crafted 'framework'.

In previous years, the collection of plays has followed a theme.:

Last year's theme was “Sweet Sixteen" in commemoration of the 16th anniversary of this Stray tradition.

This year's theme is "Scare-Fried" with a collection of spooky and scary stories that will hit the stage in October.
